Tom Lathrop of RIT’s Osher Institute will tell us about how the Dutch settled in NY State and developed centers of trade in America’s early days, followed by refreshments. Open to all at no charge. A Thursday program especially for those who cannot visit on our regular Tuesdays.
The Windsor Chair. Tues., Oct. 15, 7 pm, at the Society. Learn about how the chair is made, why it is unique, and how it has survived more than 200 years to become the most prolific piece of furniture in American history. Plus a few fun “seating” stories. With chairmaker Mike Borgeest, an interpreter at Genesee Country Village and Museum, and teacher at the Windsor Institute of New Hampshire.
